As the heart of the Piedmont region, Charlotte has become a hot spot for local tourists. Some popular areas of Charlotte include Uptown, Midtown, South End, NoDa, and South Charlotte. These areas are homes to various bars, clubs, local restaurants, and shops. There is always some kind of event being hosted in these areas nearly every night.

Sports Teams

If you’re a football fan, you probably know Charlotte as the home of the Carolina Panthers. However, Charlotte is home to many sports teams, such as the Charlotte Knights, the Charlotte Hornets, the Charlotte Checkers, and is the home of NASCAR. The streets of Charlotte never fail to come alive during game days, and some local restaurants will even offer specials on game days! Game days have become family days for not only immediate family members, but for your entire Charlotte family!

Whether it’s date night, girls night out, your bachelors party, or family time, Charlotte has plenty to offer!

If you and your family love outdoor fun, then you would love the Whitewater Center, Crowders Mountain, Lake Norman, and Lake Wylie. Even if you want to stay within Charlotte’s city limits, there are scooter tours to learn about popular areas in the city. You will also see scooters/bikes around the city that you can rent through Lime and Bird to tour the city on your own!

While the outdoor activities that Charlotte offers is fun, we know that it’s not everyone’s speed! Charlotte has an abundance of indoor family fun to offer. ImagineOn, Discovery Place, the Mint Museum, Sky Zone, and the Great Wolf Lodge are great indoor options to keep the family entertained.

A few other popular attractions in Charlotte include Topgolf, Carowinds, NASCAR Hall of Fame, and Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Schools

Charlotte Mecklenburg School District is made up of about 180 schools, making it the biggest school district in the Charlotte Area. Charlotte is also home to a lot of Charter schools and Private schools as well.
